WVU Alumnus collecting data on Irma

A WVU alumnus is collecting tracking data on Hurricane Irma. The massive storm is being called the most powerful Atlantic Ocean hurricane in recorded history and West Virginia graduate Nick Underwood has been flying into the eye the storm to collect critical data. He serves as an aerospace engineer and aircrew member aboard an aircraft that is specially outfitted to carry out hurricane research and reconnaissance missions from within powerful storms.
