March for Mental Health Friday May 20th
The March of Mental Health will be held at Appalachian Power Park from 11:30am – 1:30pm. FREE! Everyone welcome! Food, t-shirts and community resources. Come out and take a lap for better mental health!!!
Summer Movie Night Friday May 20th
Summer Movie Night are back at the Barboursville Amphitheater!!! Friday Night’s movie will be “Clifford the Big Red Dog” and will begin at dusk (around 8:30pm). Make sure to bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy a fun and free movie under the stars. Concessions will be available to purchase during the event.
Spring Craft and Vendor Show Friday and Saturday May 20th & 21st
A Spring Crafts and Vendor Show will be held at WV Pumpkin Park in Milton from 12:00pm – 9:00pm on Friday and 9:00am – 7:00pm on Saturday. Gate charge is $5.00 and a 10X10 space is $100.00. For more details call (304)743-8774.
Flea Market Friday and Saturday May 20th & 21st
A Giant Spring Flea Market will be held at the West Virginia State Fair grounds in Lewisburg from 8:00am – 6:00pm on both days. There will great finds and parking and admission to shop are free. Vendor space is available for $25.00 per day and for more details call (304)645-1090.
62nd Armed Forces Day Parade Saturday May 21st
The 62nd Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital will be held in downtown South Charleston on D Street near the mound starting at 12:00pm.
Winfield Spring Cleanup Saturday May 21st
The City of Winfield will offer a spring cleanup event for city residents from 7:00am – 12:30pm. Waste Management trucks will be parked on the front lot of the former Winfield wastewater treatment plant. All participants MUST show their sewer bill showing their physical home address and may only bring one carload or truck of items.
Winfield Pancake Breakfast Saturday May 21st
A Community pancake breakfast will be held in Winfield at the church located on 20 Radwin Dr., from 8:30am – 10:30am.
Walk with Me 5K Saturday May 21st
The “Walk with Me…. For Youth in Foster Care” event will be held at Appalachian Power Park from 9:00am – 12:00pm. This self-paced 5K is to raise awareness of foster care in West Virginia and celebrate foster families and their children. Vacation Bible School Saturday May 21st
Highlawn Presbyterian Church in St. Albans will host a “Fireproof” vacation Bible School Fun Day starting at 9:45am with activities taking place from 10:00am – 10:30am. The Fun Day is for pre-K through middle school students. There will be lessons about the Old Testament, crafts, local firefighters and their truck, and a pizza lunch.
Motorcycle Fundraiser Saturday May 21st
The Motorcycle against Melanoma ride will meet for registration starting at 10:00am Riverside High School. Kickstands go up at 12:00pm for the scenic ride. The registration fee is $20.00 per motorcycle and $30.00 if accompanied by another rider. Proceeds will benefit the 3 Betties Foundation and its Cancer prevention programs. Summerville Gospel Sing Saturday May 21st
The Summerville Gospel Sing will be held at the Old Main Auditorium doors will open at 4:30pm and singing will start at 6:00pm. Admission is free but donations taken during the event will go to the Nicholas Old Main Foundation for the upkeep of the building. For more details call (304)651-5071.

5th Annual Charley West BBQ Fest Saturday May 21st
Cold Brews, Hot BBQs, and Sweet Tunes………. It is time once again for the 5th annual Charley West BBQ Fest!!! The event will be held at Haddad Riverfront Park from 2:00pm -8:00pm with great food and live music. Admission is free and tasting tickets are $10 for 10. Remember rain or shine we swine. Cruise-In Saturday May 21st
Downtown Madison will host a Cruise-In Car Show from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. Entry fee is $15.00 and Dash Plaques will be given for the first 30 entries. Plus, there will be food, live music, and prizes.
Indoor Yard Sale Saturday May 21st
USA Martial Arts will be having an indoor yard sale and will be selling hotdogs and BBQs starting at 8:00am at the at their studios in St. Albans. All proceeds will go to their team as they prepare for the USA National Karate Championships this July in Spokane, WA.
3rd Annual Community Shred Day Saturday May 21st
A Community Shred Day will be held at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Central in Cross Lanes from 9:00am-12:00pm. This event is open to everyone!!! Just drive up and hand them your boxes of paperwork to shred. The shredding will take place right then and your boxes will be handed back to you. You don’t even need to get out of the car!!!
Pie Hike at Kanawha State Forest Sunday May 22nd
A Pie Hike will be held in Kanawha State Forest starting at 1:30pm. The hike will depart from the 4 mile mountain parking area at Kanawha state forest (drive to the back of the forest, at the top of the mountain when the road turns to gravel, the parking will be on the left). 3.5 mile easy to moderate hike on middle ridge trail and laurels trail. Bring a pie and after the hike everyone can share pies.
Spring Finale Show Sunday May 22nd
Poca High School Show Choir Visual Volume will have their Spring Finale Show from 2:00pm – 3:30pm at the high school gym. The State Show Choir Festival Division Champion performance “Take to the Sky” will be the seniors last performance so make sure to come and show your support. Tickets are available at the door and admission is $5.00 per person and 8th grade and under are free.
Korea War Memorial
The names of any U.S. military Veteran living or deceased, are being accepted for addition to the Korean War Memorial located at the intersection of Montrose Avenue and MacCorkle Avenue in South Charleston. Covenant House – Monday through Friday
The Our choice food pantry opens at 9:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, now located on site at Covenant House, 600 Shrewsbury. Last year 11,182 West Virginians relied on the Covenant House Food Pantry to put food on the family table.
