WVU will play Maryland in Birmingham, Alabama at the Legacy Arena Thursday March 16th at 12:15pm on CBS. If they win, they will play Saturday March 18th either Alabama or Texas A&M their game is Thursday at 2:45pm on CBS.
Maple Days Saturday March 18th
The Ronk Family Farm in Alum Creek will kick – off Maple Days from 9:00am -5:00pm with a Maple sausage pancake breakfast. They will have on display the full bottle of maple syrup that was made here in West Virginia in 1859 oldest known bottle of syrup in World, demonstrations on the hour of properly tapping your maple tree in your backyard, seeing the maple evaporator in full operation with steam rolling hot and heavy to make the syrup, and vendors set up at the bottom of the hill for some local shopping. Make sure to dress warmly and WEAR boots!!!
Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser Saturday March 18th
The Paralyzed Veterans of America West Virginia Chapter will be hosting a fundraiser dinner 11:00am – 3:00pm at 336 Campbells Creek Dr in Charleston. Homemade spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, and dessert. The cost is $10.00 per person. All proceeds will go to supporting our programs for our members who have a spinal cord injury or disease.
Sunday Supper Sunday March 19th
The St. Mathew’s Episcopal Church in Charleston will be hosting a Sunday Supper starting at 11:30am. Bring a dish to share to their monthly potluck event.
Korea War Memorial
The names of any U.S. military Veteran living or deceased, are being accepted for addition to the Korean War Memorial located at the intersection of Montrose Avenue and MacCorkle Avenue in South Charleston. Branch of service, rank, and dates of service can be added to the memorial as well. For more details call (304)722-1204.
Covenant House – Monday through Friday
The Our choice food pantry opens at 9:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, now located on site at Covenant House, 600 Shrewsbury. Last year 11,182 West Virginians relied on the Covenant House Food Pantry to put food on the family table.
