New Laws in WV

Several new laws take effect this week in West Virginia. Today is the first day “In God We Trust” license plates can be purchased. The West Virginia Medical Cannabis Act takes effect today. And Emmaleigh’s Law goes into effect on Thursday. That is the law that doubles the penalty’s for child abuse that needs to death. It is named after a 10-month of Jackson County child who dies last fall after being sexually assaulted.
