Sewage spilling into Elk River

Sewage is spilling into the Elk River. WSAZ reports that last month’s floods damaged two lines and sewage from nearly one-thousand customers is running into the water. The leaks are where pipes are supposed to carry the waste to Elkview from Clendenin. Crews are working on a temporary fix but a long term solution is still being discussed. It may cost upwards of one-million dollars or more to repair.
