A resettlement request for refugees in Charleston is being approved. The State Department has given the okay to make a safe haven for refugees in Charleston. A request was made by local officials in the fall and plans call for 100 refugees to resettle within a year. It’s possible the decision could be changed when Donald Trump takes office but the plans are underway.
