New Law Allows for New Fireworks Sales

Independence Day isn’t far away and a new law goes into effect today that will allow more powerful fireworks to be sold. Lawmakers passed a law that will allow bottle rockets, missile-type rockets, helicopter spinners, roman candles, and some reloadable tubes, along with firecrackers. Tamer fireworks like sparklers, toy caps, and model rockets are already legal. The goal of the new law is to raise money for veterans and volunteer fire departments through a 12 percent fireworks safety fee.
