Goodlatte on Zika

As the Zika virus gets closer to our area, finding a way to stop it could still be far away. Florida health officials believe four cases of Zika were transmitted locally, and federal health officials warn more cases are likely. Virginia Republican Congressman Bob Goodlatte says there’s a bill to address the issue, but Democrats in the Senate are blocking it. It comes to a total cost of more than one-billion dollars, but some Democrats want a two-billion-dollar bill. Goodlatte writes in “The Daily Progress” the Senate has punted any action on funding until next month.
