Changes in Health care
West Virginia officials are recommending the formation of a nonprofit group to coordinate changes to health care at the federal and state levels. The Department of Health and Human Resources announced plans Wednesday to establish the West Virginia Health Transformation Accelerator. The West Virginia University School of Public Health and other partners suggest creating the independent nonprofit. The department says the nonprofit would help implement changes in its State Innovation Model, which provides money for states to transform their health care systems. The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation provided West Virginia almost $2 million to draw up its plan. Health officials have released a plan to make a variety of changes to health care from 2016 through 2021.
