Prayer Replaced with Moment of Silence at Clay County School Events

Clay County schools are doing something different this fall — adding a moment of silence before football games instead of reading a prayer over the loudspeaker. This will be the rule not only at football games, but at all school events this fall. One person went before the school board and asked for the change, and the school board fell back on the Supreme Court ruling that said prayers in school are unconstitutional. The next home football game is this Friday, Sept. 1.
