Manchin on Energy Secretary

Senator Joe Manchin does not want to become the country’s Energy Secretary. Rumors have been swirling about the Democrat’s possible nomination for the post, but he said over the weekend on Facebook he feels he can better serve the people of West Virginia as a Senator. He said he wants to work with lawmakers from both parties to repair the healthcare system, address the opioid crisis, reform the tax code and secure pensions for miners. To do that, he believes his Senate seat is where he will best be able to serve the public.
