Justice’s mines miss safety gear deadline
Two of the three mines in the state that missed a deadline to install special safety gear are owned by Governor Justice. The Pay Car 57 and Pay Car 58 mines in McDowell County missed installing safety shutdown technology that could prevent a miner from being crushed by fast-moving mining equipment. The deadline was last July.
