Wrongful termination lawsuits settle

The state Board of Risk and Insurance Management has decided to settle four of twelve lawsuits filed against Secretary of State Mac Warner for firing sixteen workers shortly after taking office last year. The former employees claim they were fired because of the political affiliations. Warner says the dismissals were necessary to streamline the Secretary of State’s Office. The eight other cases will go to trial.
