Surcharge for Mountaineer Gas

State regulators are looking at a proposed surcharge settlement for Mountaineer Gas. The company has asked to tack on the charge to residential customers to help expand Eastern Panhandle coverage but the plan has come under fire. The surcharge would help fund the project, which is expected to cost 30-million dollars. Mountaineers’ COO told the Public Service Commission the settlement was reached with several groups and would possibly allow the start of the project in 2018.
