Sports betting will be ready by football season

The state’s five casinos say they will have sports betting ready to go before football season kicks off. The casinos lost some time while the governor’s office reviewed the emergency rules to authorize sports betting. The Lottery Commission and the casinos say they hope to launch sports betting by the first week of September, which is the first weekend of the NFL season.
