Red Cross Has an Emergency Need for Blood

The American Red Cross is asking for donors and says there is an emergency blood shortage. The Fourth of July week was hard on blood donations, with hundreds fewer blood drives than a typical week, and now blood is being distributed to hospitals faster than donations are coming in. Eligible donors are encouraged to give as soon as possible to help replenish the blood supply.
