Machinery Plant to Lay Off Workers

Layoffs are coming to a manufacturing plant. Walker Machinery said slow economic and marketing conditions and a slumping coal industry are to blame, and the loss of jobs for 77 people is necessary to help the company adjust to the conditions. Some losing jobs are being offered opportunities for other positions in other areas of the company’s territory with relocation packages. Walker Machinery has locations in West Virginia and Southeastern Ohio, and sells CAT equipment and other construction, industrial, mining, paving and forestry equipment.
