Kanawha and Cabell County Schools Confirm Walkout

Kanawha County Schools confirmed that schools will be closed Thursday and Friday and that all activities will be canceled because of the statewide two-day teacher walkout. Cabell County school officials have confirmed the same thing. WCHS TV reports Kanawha students will make up the days during the last two out-of-school environment days of the year – May 25 and May 29. May 29 will be the last day of school. Cabell County officials said the district will update the community by 3 p.m. today if there are any changes.
