Injured Worker Sues Power Company

A man who was hurt while working on electrical lines is suing the power company. David Matheny of Jackson County was injured while working to dismantle an electrical transmission tower in the Kanawha State Forest over the summer and filed suit against American Electric Power and the company AEP hired to perform the work. The suit was filed by US Attorney Booth Goodwin and says safety rules weren’t followed. AEP officials said Matheny was a contractor, and company employees weren’t at the site when the accident happened, but they’re complying with the investigation.
