FEMA approves disaster declaration

The Federal Emergency Management Agency approved a major disaster declaration request for more than half-a-dozen West Virginia counties. The request was made after severe storms around the Memorial Day holiday. Public Assistance funding will be available in Grant, Hampshire, hardy, Jefferson, Mineral, Morgan and Pendleton counties. Initial estimates place the damage at nearly five-million dollars.
