Common Core Standards are Legal

The West Virginia Supreme Court has refused a petition in which a Republican lawmaker contended that the Common Core educational standards are illegal. The petition was filed by state Del. Mike Folk of Berkeley County. Folk has contended that the standards violate state law and the U.S. Constitution, which requires congressional approval of agreements between states.
