Checks are not in the mail

Checks from the 150-million-dollar water crisis settlement were supposed to be in the mail by the end of August, but officials now say it’s expected to take at least ten more days to mail the checks once the judge ok’s the final accounting. Nearly five years ago a chemical leak at Freedom Industries contaminated drinking water from the Elk River. Nearly 97-thousand households made claims in the case.
