Charleston commuters
This morning’s commute on eastbound I-64 approaching the Eugene A. Carter Memorial Bridge should be a bit smoother, and safer, than yesterday. More than a dozen cars had tires blown out after hitting a steel expansion joint that had come loose from the concrete. The steel beam essentially acted like a stop strip. Road crews have been working since yesterday to repair the damaged area.
