Charges Filed After Inmate Attack

Eight inmates at the South Central Regional Jail are facing conspiracy charges for assaulting another inmate. State Police say inmate Nicholas Thompson was assaulted last Friday, and those charged have been identified as Dale Guthrie, Anton Courts, Keon Ross, Oneil Peart, Jalil Myers, Malik Hawk, Robert Stamper and Adam Lacava. A corrections officer said he saw Dale Guthrie throw the first punch, then others jumped in. Video surveillance was reviewed too, which showed Thompson being kicked and punched. Guthrie and Lacava were arraigned on the charges Tuesday in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
