Brothers Face Kidnapping Charges

Two brothers have been charged after police say they broke into their step-grandfather’s home and took their 1-year-old stepbrother. 18-year-old Khance Xavier Johnson and 20-year-old J’Hahn Bazzil Johnson were arrested on burglary charges, and police think the two broke in because they said they believed the child was living in dangerous conditions. The brothers then drove the boy to a West Virginia State Police detachment, where troopers called Charleston police. Charleston police Lt. Steve Cooper says authorities and Child Protective Services found no reason to remove the child from the home. Following their arrest, a magistrate set bail at $50,000 for each.
