Big Branch Mine lawsuit

Yesterday marked the eighth anniversary of the Upper Big Branch Mine disaster, and the wife of one of the victims has filed a lawsuit against the Mine Safety and Health Administration. Carolyn Davis’s husband, Charles, died in the mine. She says the government agency tasked with keeping mines safe didn’t do enough to prevent the tragedy.
