Motorcycle Accident Victims Identified

The Cabell County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of a husband and wife who were killed in a the bad accident Thursday in Cabell County. 75-year-old Luther Shaffer and 76-year-old Patricia Shaffer of Charleston died after three southbound motorcycles slowed down to turn into a restaurant parking lot when they were struck from behind by a pickup truck. A northbound pickup truck served to avoid the collision, crossed the center line and struck a parked vehicle. The Shaffers were on one of the motorcycles. At least four other people were injured.
