Fatal fire wasn’t criminal

The state Fire Marshal’s Office says the cause of a fatal fire Wednesday night was incendiary, but not a criminal act. Ninety-year-old Charles Pierson died of smoke inhalation at his home on Belcher Drive in Rutledge.
