WVU Tech Move to Beckley Questioned

Senate President Bill Cole says legislative attorneys are reviewing a part of state code that binds West Virginia University Tech’s headquarters to Montgomery. Cole tells The Gazette-Mail that the Legislature would be willing to clarify that section of the code during the 2016 regular session — it was part of a 2008 higher education reform bill. Earlier this month, West Virginia University’s Board of Governors authorized moving WVU Tech’s campus from Montgomery to Beckley. The move will be completed by 2017.
