WVU Names New Mascot

A West Virginia University student from Greenbrier County has been named the next Mountaineer mascot. Troy Clemons was picked by a committee of faculty, staff and students following a cheer-off competition held with three other finalists at a basketball game last month. Clemons will serve for the 2016-17 academic year. He replaces Michael Garcia, who served as the Mountaineer mascot for the past two years. Clemons is a senior sports management major from Maxwelton.
