Winfield land annex public hearing Thursday

A public hearing will be held tonight in Putnam County regarding Winfield’s move to annex 223 acres of land into town limits. The move would take a small boundary adjustment and Putnam County commission members want to get some input on the idea. Some businesses have concerns about being absorbed into Winfield with the annexation and the extra money out of their pockets due to having to pay the B and O tax. The public hearing begins at 6 p.m. Thursday in the county courthouse.
