State Lawmakers Consider Changing the School Calendar
The end of the 60-day legislative session is fast approaching – Saturday March 12th is the last day – so time is running out for bills to become new laws. A bill that started in the House of Delegates would change the school calendar for the state. Right now school days are counted by days, not minutes, but the bill would change that to count required instructional days by minutes. The goal, to give school leaders more flexibility in canceling and rescheduling school hours.
