Phone scam alert

Double check your caller ID. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s office wants you to be aware of a phone scam. They’ve had reports of a person claiming to be a deputy sheriff and demanding money to pay fines. The Sheriff’s office says they never demand payment over the phone. If you receive a suspicious call, contact the Kanawha County Sheriff’s office.
