Parking Changes will Give Spots to Taxpayers

With the September 1 deadline coming up to pay first-half of the year taxes and receive a discount, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Tax Division is expecting a crowd at the counters. To help with parking, the right lane of Virginia Street in front of the Kanawha County Courthouse will be closed to traffic Thursday through Tuesday so tax payers can park there. The closure will only apply to the block between Goshhorn and Court Streets. A Deputy Sheriff will be on hand to monitor parking and keep the lane clear of traffic. The Tax Division’s courthouse office is at 409 Virginia Street East.
