Online Voter Registration is Working

West Virginia’s new online voter registration system has clicked with voters. Secretary of State Natalie Tennant says her office received over a thousand submissions through the system in its first month, including new voters, address changes, and party changes. Tennant said Tuesday in a news release that the submissions came from residents in 50 of the state’s 55 counties. She says she considers the system’s first month as a success. West Virginia is one of 26 states that offer online voter registration.
