No increase in PEIA funding

Governor Justice says there will be no change in state funding for the state employees’ public insurance plan next year. State law requires the Governor to send a letter to the agency’s director every year. The letter says state funding next year will total 575-million-dollars. Earlier this month the Governor pledged an extra 100-million-dollars toward the insurance plan. Staffers say that wasn’t included because it has to be approved by the legislature first.
