Kids will get to sleep in next school year
Kids will get to sleep a little later next fall…The Kanawha County School Board voted last night to push back start times. Under the new plan, high schoolers will start at 8:30, middle school students at 8 a.m., and elementary students at 7:30. Board of Education members reviewed sleep studies that show teenagers benefit from starting their school day later, resulting in better attendance and test scores.
