Hotel Deal Falls Through
A new downtown hotel deal is off after a meeting Wednesday with the Charleston Urban Renewal Authority. The authority had considered developing a new downtown hotel with Virginia-based developer KM Hotels, but problems with the financing led to the deal falling through on Wednesday. The deal would have been to build a Homewood Suites by Hilton on Quarrier Street. CURA provides financial and administrative assistance to support redevelopment activities throughout the city, working with residents, businesses, and city leaders.
