Contract negotiation contintue with Austin Police
The city of Austin is trying to hammer out a contract with the Austin Police Association. Negotiators have asked for a 30-day extension. The major sticking points are increases in pay and benefits, and the “180 day” rule which gives the APD 180 days to investigate and discipline an officer for violating policy. The latest contract ended September 30th.
