Common Core Scores Show Students Struggle in Math and Reading
Full or preliminary scores for Common Core have been released for a handful of states including West Virginia. The idea of Common Core was to bring students and schools under one common umbrella to measure success, instead of having 50 states with 50 different measurements. Common Core has been widely criticized, and although initial scores arent’ as poor as some thought they might be, they do show that vast numbers of students do not qualify as proficient in math or reading. The evaluation process continues.
