Brunch Bill Passes in Two Counties
With Tuesday’s vote, two counties say yes to earlier alcohol sales on Sundays. The brunch bill was approved in Putnam and Cabell Counties, making alcohol sales legal on Sundays at 10am instead of 1pm. Restaurants, wineries, breweries and distilleries can start selling alcohol earlier on Sundays. Nicholas and Wayne county voters rejected similar bills. Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin approved the bill in March, allowing cities and counties to decide if they wanted to approve it on the local level.
