Attorney General Asks to Watch for Price Gouging
West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is sending out a warning for West Virginians to be on the lookout for price gouging as Hurricane Florence makes it way toward the coast. The state’s price gouging law took effect Tuesday morning after Governor Jim Justice issued a State of Preparedness for every county in West Virginia. The law specifically prohibits any person, business or contractor from inflating the price of certain items by more than 10 percent of what it sold for 10 days prior to the declaration.
