AG Warns of Another Scam
Another warning of a scam from the West Virginia Attorney General. It starts with a phone message saying you’ll be arrested if you don’t follow instructions. The callers usually claim to represent the U.S. Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service or legal affair. If you call them back and refuse to cooperate by questioning whether they’re legit, they’ll threaten you with immediate arrest. The Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division says reports of the scam have picked up again over the past few weeks. Don’t give them money, and you can report calls like that to the AG’s office.
