A fight over logging in state parks

The conservation group Friends of Blackwater is preparing for a fight over logging in state parks. State Commerce Secretary Woody Thrasher recently commented that logging within state parks on a “very limited basis” could help the state pay for needed improvements to the parks. Friends of Blackwater argue that visitors do not visit West Virginia parks to see logging operations. The group says it would require a change in legislative policy.
