Fire Marshal Investigates Fatal Fire

The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating after two people died in a house fire around 1:45 a.m. Saturday. The Fayette County sheriff’s office says that when deputies arrived at the home in Fayetteville, they found two people trapped as the house burned. The sheriff’s office did not release the number of people living inside the home or if anyone made it out safely. Several regional volunteer fire crews battled the blaze.
