Officer Involved in Shooting is Cleared to Return to Work

The Kanwaha Bureau of Investigation continues to look into the officer-involved shooting earlier this week in Nitro. The vehicle involved was improperly registered, according to Sgt. B-D Humphreys, and the adult adult female passenger in the car has been identified as 25-year old Tia Streater of Charleston. She was arrested and charged with simple possession of a controlled substance. The name of the officer who was involved in the shooting at Easter Rd and 31st St is Sgt, Justin Raynes a five year member of Nitro Police Department. He was put on administrative leave initially, but has been cleared to return to work by a licensed psychologist.
