Battle Against Opiate Addictions Continues

US Attorney Booth Goodwin is leading the charge against opiate addictions. Goodwin was at the podium Wednesday, along with members of the police force, DEA, and Kanawha-Charleston Health Department to address what’s being done about the opiod problem in West Virginia. The drug naloxone is a life-saving drug that state lawmakers allowed police, firefighters, friends and family members to administer, in addition to doctors and paramedics. Training is underway now. The new 24-hour substance abuse and mental health help line announced by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin earlier this month is also up and running, and that’s 844-HELP4WV.
