Woman shot by son is in critical condition

A Catlettsburg, Kentucky woman is in critical condition at Cabell-Huntington Hospital after her son shot her, and then tried to shoot responding officers. Twenty-six-year-old Casey Watkins is in custody after shooting his mother in the stomach and firing in the direction of police. Officers returned fire, but neither Watkins, nor any officers were injured. Watkins is charged with attempted murder.
