State School Board Changes Science Testing Grade Levels
Some changes are coming to schools after the West Virginia Board of Education voted this week to change the grade levels for standardized tests. Spring science exams will happen in grades 5, 8, and 10 — federal law requires annual science testing only in three grades. The Gazette-Mail reports there will be field test items for the science tests this spring to help develop a planned new science standardized test based on the state’s new science standards. The board this week also set the total point values for coming up with the A-F grades it plans to release for entire schools next month.
