Spring Cleanup Set for Saturday
Kanawha County will kick off its annual spring cleanup this weekend, which gives you the chance to dump the larger items that usually aren’t picked up with regular trash collection. This Saturday between 8am and 4pm you can drop off items at the intersection of 4th Avenue and C Street in South Charleston. They’ll accept large appliances, air conditioners, televisions, computers, all metal, car batteries and electronics. Crews will also collect 10 tires, but you have to present a West Virginia identification. They won’t accept chemicals, motor oil, gas tanks, or paint. This is the 17th year for the annual cleanup. On April 2nd they’ll have another drop-off event at Elkview Middle School in Elkview, and on April 16, behind the GoMart in Cabin Creek.
