West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has reached a $336,000 settlement with an online lender. Morrisey’s office announced the settlement Monday with Avant Inc. over allegations the company violated the state’s Consumer Credit and Protection Act. Morrisey’s office claimed Avant misled customers about being licensed to offer loans in West Virginia, and with interest rates higher than allowed in the state.
